Dimensional Inspection: A 20 Year History
This month, Nel Pretech celebrates its 20th year anniversary as contract dimensional inspection specialists. The company started back in 1993 with limited capabilities such as the non-contact, hand-driven Micro Vu measuring machine (pictured here).
Over the years, customer demand for more complex measurement solutions and size requirements grew. This led NPC into the realm of programmable auto-driven video systems and contact CMM inspection equipment.
In the year 2000, NPC's quality management system became accredited to ISO 9002 and ISO/IEC 17025 for commercial laboratories. In January of 2004 A2LA accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025 was received. By 2013, NPC is also ITAR compliant and has completed over 10,000 jobs. These jobs have encompassed a wide gamut of product including but not limited to the industries of : plastic injection molding, food packaging, aerospace, medical, automotive, government/defense and communications.
Other services include: 3D scanning, CT scanning, reverse engineering, true position gage design, large part inspection and first article inspection.

True Position Gage: Update
We received the new gage from our machinist and couldn't be happier! The new gage was constructed of hardened steel and should resist the effects of environmental corrosion which caused our customer's previous gage to fail. The gage has passed the certification process with flying colors and has been shipped to our customer! Here's a few pics of the completed gage.

True Position Gage
This CAD model was designed during a recent reverse
engineering job by NPC. One of our customers had a true position gage that had
corroded and was no longer useful to them. They gave us the old gage and asked
us to build a new one. The process started by taking measurements from the
original gage and recording them. This gave us enough data to build a CAD model
(pictured here). Once the CAD model was made, blueprints were also able to be
generated and given to our machinist. The new gage is now being built and will
be delivered to our customer upon completion. I’ll post more pics of the
completed gage soon!

Don't pop your top!
We get a variety of different types of jobs here at NPC. Here is one of our food packaging jobs: the salad bowl. We work closely with the quality departments of several food packaging vendors to ensure mating parts fit correctly. Thanks to our services, you won't be vacuuming that chicken salad off of your car seat after your next drive thru visit!
